Hollywood Penthouse
When interior designer Alena Sanaeva moved into this Hollywood penthouse, she wanted to preserve its minimalist feel. With limited space, she kept the walls understated and let art become the focal point.
In the living room, sculptural, organically shaped droplets take center stage. Alena created these pieces using epoxy resin and gold leaf, framing their edges with clay.
For the windowless dining area, she designed a wall installation titled Windswept Breasts, bringing visual interest and a playful story to the space. Each breast has a matching partner, inviting guests to turn the artwork into a guessing game as they try to identify the pairs. Alena explains that the idea grew from vivid childhood memories of visiting a women’s sauna and seeing the diversity of the female form.
The large paintings are works by Canadian artist Early Worm, purchased during the NFT boom.
The balcony overlooks the Hollywood Hills. It is a beautiful place to welcome the morning with a cup of coffee or watch the city slip into night.
